So there you are, sitting with your head in your hands, probably on the kitchen floor, devastated because somebody has left you/ doesn’t love you anymore / loves somebody else / never loved you in the first place.
Your heart is broken into a million tiny pieces. You feel as though your world has ended – because it was only worth living in when *they* were part of it.
Stop for a moment.
Feel into your heart.
That achingly powerful force that is currently breaking you apart?
It’s YOU.
That’s YOUR power. That love you feel; that love you thought of as belonging to another person – it’s actually ALL YOURS.
And right now, you are all too aware of what a magnificent force it is, because it’s imploding into you so strongly that you feel as though you’re being scattered to the four winds.
Ok, I know you need to simply collapse into mush right now. Go ahead, wallow in it. Roll around in it; cry oceans of tears. That’s what we signed up for at the end of the day, as humans: EMOTION. So immerse yourself in that raw sorrow and enjoy the ride.
But once you feel a little better, keep the memory of that awesomely mighty force clear within you. That is the force of LOVE – and it’s yours.
Yes, that other person didn’t take it away with them – they merely helped you to make it stronger. In fact, it’s the same love that you felt for your first schoolyard crush, that guinea pig you had when you were 5, your mother, your children, your best friend – it’s all the same LOVE!
Isn’t that great, to realise that you are the proud owner of the most powerful force known to the planet?
So let’s get back to where we started out. On the kitchen floor with a box of tissues and puffy red eyes, looking highly unattractive.
Don’t hate this feeling. Embrace it. LOVE the heartbreak. It’s a formidable force which you will continue to use throughout your life.
It will heal, create and transmute. It will transform your life, the life of those around you, and the planet you live on… and it’s growing and evolving within you, right now.
And although it doesn’t seem like it right now, at some point in the future you’ll look back on this moment, and the moments following it, and feel proud of yourself that you got through this – to become a more loving, more loveable, more complete person.
